Finally! A nice restaurant in East York with good food. We have been there twice and have seen a few neighbours there as well. We all agree we will be going back. Pizza has a light crust, not heavy and was extremely good. The entrees were presently beautifully and also were excellent. The food just feels "fresh". For only being open awhile, I think the staff did quite well.. a bit rushed, but that can be expected. It will be a pleasure to bring visiting guests to our new restaurant. One wish..Would like to have seen a pasta dish with mushrooms but that's just me. Perhaps children would like a bowl of ice cream for dessert. Good Luck to Crazy Tomato!

My husband & I waited anxiously for the grand opening and had our first dinner there on day three. My husband had Barese Sasuage & Rapini & I had Braised Beef Pappardelle. Both excellent choices. And what would dinner be without dessert?? The lemon cheesecake was to die for. We will be going back, many more times in the future and trying many of the other items listed in the menu. The caesar salad at the next table looked and smelled amazing. Can't wait to try it. Only had one complaint....it can get quite noisy (people-background) in there. Perhaps some plants or table cloths would help absorb some of the noise.

We just got back from our first meal at The Crazy Tomato. I can honestly say that the food was good. I have had better Italian, but not for the price. It was quite reasonable, the atmosphere was good. The wait staff were mostly professional... We had some problems though. Our appetizer came out quite quickly. The mussels were great. Then the busperson wanted to clear the table asking if we wanted dessert... Not major, we told her we were still expecting food. Then tables that arrived after us were being served before us... And we saw our food come out to tables, be refused as not being ordered and then go back to the kitchen... Once the food arrived, it was okay. Not great, not outstanding, just okay. The Fumicata pizza was supposed to have smoked panchetta and smoked cheese. It didn't. The pizza was good but not great. The Veal parm, my wife found to be salty and the pasta had a citrus note to it which she didn't enjoy. My son liked his Penne con Pollo. I tasted it and it was pretty good. Hopefully they can work the kinks out, but we are not going back for awhile. If people are still eating there in a month or two we may try again, but we won't be back until then.

it's sad – they ALMOST get it right but there's no way in hell i'm eating here again – here's ways they could improve: • stop playing super super duper shitty radio way loud and reedick static-y – it's really uncomfortable sitting in your restaurant * stop thinking Pad Thai is rice noodles with some ketchup squirted on – you just wasted all my dollars! * if you guys can start cooking food that's not gross (hint: Thai isn't your strong suit) and turn down the shitty static-filled music (so I can hear myself think about how i'm the only customer in your place) you'll be on a good path to success – also, personal note, please notify your waitresses that if they think they haven't put on enough perfume in the morning, they've already gone WAY too far!

My husband and I had a great meal here last week and we certainly will be going back often. Despite just opening their doors everything went without a hitch. The food was just as I like it-great food simply prepared and beautifully presented.Kudos to chef.

I read a review earlier in the day and thought to try it out. Our meal was excellent, we tried the stuffed chicken and the pasta special with shrimp. We had a great time at dinner and found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable with the wine menu. We'll be going back very soon.

It's overpriced for minuscule portions of plain servings. It's doesn't even qualify as great gourmet, overpriced fare because the food itself is not too far off from what I can serve at home. The salad is a pinch of arugula leaves with barely any dressing, or none at all, still can't figure out if there was any. I discovered one tiny sliver of some kind of fruit underneath one leaf, and I think there was one nut crushed up and tossed in there. I don't recall any other veggies. The fromage fondant was a deep fried wedge of camembert sitting on maybe 4 arugula leaves and was delicious but again I think M&M might have something similar I can make at home. At least for that price, make it more substantial. They had one vegetarian option which looked overpriced again with little to write home about so I skipped that and went straight to dessert. The Quack and Track has to be the most off putting title for an entree and anyone who orders it must be equally twisted. Horse meat is out of the question for me, as it's a meat that is overrated not to mention contaminated, no thanks there are enough carcinogens in the world already. We ordered the fromage platter and a creme brûlée for sharing and again way overpriced with ridiculously small portions that were bland at best. Three small pieces of cheese with tiny pairings of fruit for $18??? Are u serious? I probably wouldn't be writing this review if the prices reflected what we got but honestly I could have eaten a meal at Milestones that was as gourmet and better priced and filling. It's obvious that their wild meats are their draw, and they have nothing else on the menu to really back up running that place...if you want French cuisine, don't go there. And to top it off they their ventilation is atrocious and can't be up to the city's standards because with the front completely open to the street, the air was still draped in smoke from their grill and open air kitchen and I was tearing up constantly, it was unbearable. I had to sit in the car for 5 minutes before driving off just to make sure I had stopped tearing and this never happens to me....save your money!

We recently moved into the area and were very excited to have found a restaurant that meets all our needs. My husband loves pizza and I love pasta and they have it all for both of us. My favourite by far is the Linguine Java, the smoked chicken and bacon hits the spot for me. Rib pizza is awesome too. We love the menu and the staff are so friendly they know us by name, great neighbourhood gem.

Great ambiance on the back patio- authentic casual sandwiches just like the ones at beachside food trucks in Martinique or Guadeloupe. The sweetest staff. Two thumbs up!

Decided to go for dinner because of the positive Toronto Life review. Boy did they get it wrong. I had the antipasto and Pizza 'nduja. My companion had the seafood scialatielli. We waited for almost 20 minutes for the antipasto to arrive which is unacceptable for a dish that needs no cooking. It finally came, and was just a pile of meat and cheese, with no accompanying olives or marinated vegetable to cut the oiliness of the meats. Then, before we finished the antipasto, the server brought my companions scialatielli. Two of the clams were closed, and when my companion asked for more mussels instead, the server merely said it was supposed to be that way, and brought it to the kitchen to pry them open. The pasta was also undercooked (not just al dente) and the server said that's how they do it. He didn't offer any consolations. Then my pizza arrived. It was mostly a mound of doughy crust, too-acidic sauce, and gloupy cheese. There was hardly any 'nduja (which the sever even pronounced wrong) and it was soggy. The only redeeming factor was a different server who offered us desert and coffee on him, which we politely declined. Toronto Life stated that the pizza was on par with Libretto or Queen Margherita, but it was even close. The menu was typical Italian fare, nothing special. Too bad, it would have been nice to have a place like Libretto or QM so close to my home.

They have a much more restricted menu then their original restaurant, the decor is not attractive in comparison, and worst of all is their service. The staff is rude when peanut allergies were brought up - the chef would not accommodate this extremely common allergy and suggested we not take the chance. Another member with us doesn't eat pork, and everything with bacon was pre-mixed. Everything with peanuts was pre-mixed too, which made us think that first of all, they didn't want our business, and second of all, the meals were not freshly made.

My tastebuds were tingling (in a good way) when I ate the surf and turf special. It came with lobster tail, 6 oz AAA black angus steak potatoes and veggies.

Was excited to order some healthy take out from here when visiting from out of town but was quite disappointed. I'll start with the good - the wings were awesome, very crisp, fresh and tasty the pizza was ok but nothing special. The bad - the garlic greens were such a small portion for 7 it was absolutely ridiculous. the prices are quite high in general and obviously you expect to pay more for quality but I felt the quality was not quite there. I ordered the organic chocolate cake as it sounded delicious.... it was so dry and stale it crumbled when I tried to eat it... it was sooo gross, I had to throw it out. no cutlery or napkins were included. My friends and I were not impressed and will not be ordering again nor recommending this place to anyone
